Thank you for visiting my site. I am pleased to announce that the voters in the 12th Senate District selected me as their Representative and I was sworn into office on December 6, 2010. I am humbled by the confidence voters placed in me and am profoundly honored to serve the residents of the 12th District.

It is clear to me that there is much work to be done in Sacramento. Democrats and Republicans must work together to address the atrocious unemployment rates rampant throughout the state and especially in our communities, the ongoing budget crisis and wasteful government spending, and public safety concerns that threaten our way of life. There are no easy solutions to address these critical issues. I take to Sacramento my perspectives as a business owner, former-Mayor, husband, and father and will put them to use as we tackle these problems.

Everything happening in Sacramento has a direct impact on you. I view my role as your Senator is both to represent you in Sacramento and to work for you in order to make your lives better. My door will always be open – I want to hear your concerns and ideas – I want you to share with me your thoughts on how government can be improved and be more responsive to Californians.
